Starfish Medical Fund
FAAS relies on this emergency medical fund to pay for medical needs beyond basic care. Dental disease, broken bones, tumors, skin infections and other serious conditions can all be treated thanks to your donations. The Starfish Medical Fund is a major reason why FAAS is able to save more than 99% of the homeless animals that come through its doors.
Sasha Training Fund
Canine training has been shown to head off behavioral problems that might cause a dog to be returned to the shelter. FAAS uses its Sasha Training Fund for two types of training: pre-adoption training for dogs that are unattractive to adopters due to behavior, and post-adoption canine training for FAAS dogs that have found homes. All canine adopters are entitled to up to six weeks of reimbursable training at Petco, Bravo!Pup or other approved local academy. The Sasha Training Fund was established by FAAS supporter Shelly Gable in memory of her beloved German shepherd, Sasha.
